First Sleepover!

Leyton had his first slumber party last night. (besides family members) His buddy Jensen came to sleepover at our house last night. Leyton has been looking forward to it all week. When yesterday finally arrived, Leyton was beside himself with excitement! Our big night included playing ball outside, looking for treasures, eating pizza and ice cream, playing Mario Brothers on the wii, watching Scooby Doo, and dancing to the Wiggles. We brought them upstairs around 9:15 and Russell read the boys a few books in bed. When he came down we listened to the boys on the monitor...waiting for our nighttime entertainment. They didn't speak a word for a good 5 minutes. That made me laugh so hard. Can you imagine lying in bed next to someone and not speaking at all? It's like they didn't know what to do! THEN...let the fun begin! They started out whispering until it became a full on conversation. They talked about super powers, biting their fingernails (and toenails--yum!), their cousins, scary castles, and a bunch of other goofy things. At one point Jensen said that he wanted his mommy. Leyton told him, "We're here, we're friendly, and we'll take good care of you." I feel the beginning of a best friendship in the making! The boys fell asleep at around 10:45---they had lots to talk about!
