RSV Puhlease!

Yep...it's true. Harrison has the dreaded bronchilitis/RSV once again. The good news is that his tubes are working well...and he doesn't have an ear infection too. It amazes me how quickly this whole thing comes on. He was normal and happy before his last nap yesterday...then he woke up with a cough and red eyes that looked like he had gotten into a fist fight. I knew then. We went to the pedi this morning to confirm. Breathing treatments now. I just pray that it isn't as bad as it was last time.

Top Ten

Top Ten Things I'm Lovin' About Harrison At the Moment...
10. How when I get him in the morning and lay him on my chest to sleep. I love how he settles in when I smush my face against his head. I can actually feel him sink into me.
9. How all I have to do is look at him and say something ridiculous to make him laugh.
8. How he watches his big brother all the time...and seems to really like watching him have fun.
7. How he will cry when I turn away from him and smile the instant I turn back to look at him.
6. How he laughs and cries at the same time. (I can relate!)
5. How he snuggles his blanket and buries his face to fall asleep.
4. How he waves his arms and legs...and opens wide for each and every bite of his cereal or veggies.
3. How he looks for me when someone else is holding him.
2. How he stops nursing just to look up at me with that sweet baby toothless grin.
1. How he fills me up with love...that scary, wonderful, perfect, motherly love.

Top Ten Things I'm Lovin' About Leyton at the Moment...
10. How he tells me that he dreamt of me every morning. (I know he's lying, but he must like my reaction!)
9. How he gives me a courtesy laugh when I tell a bad joke.
8. How he requests "our song" every time we get in the car...and he tells me to play it loud. (Beyonce)
7. How he calls every meal lunch.
6. How he loves on his baby brother.
5. How he walks into every place like he owns it.
4. How he puts just one finger on something I tell him not to touch. (He IS my son!)
3. How he runs up to me and wraps his arms around me and screams GOTCHA!
2. How he calls himself "Weyton."
1. How he fills me up with love...that scary, wonderful, perfect, motherly love.

I was just thinking about how much I love these 2 little men. ...and I was just feeling really, really thankful.

Hi.

My big boy is losing his big fat cheeks. In fact, he is losing all of his cute baby fat. He is becoming a boy. And that makes this mommy kinda sad. Sometimes I bribe him to let me hold him like a baby. I know, I'm pathetic.

Harrison My Son

Harrison my son, Harrison my son. That is a song we sing around the house. It is to the tune of a Music Together song. Even Leyton sings it to him. His nicknames are...
1. Harrison son son son son son (as many sons as we can muster up)
2. dubber doo
3. dubs
4. shug dubs
5. dubberdooski
We had his 4 month well check...he was actually 4 1/2 months. He did so good. I love the nurses there because they love on him so much before poking him with those dreadful needles. They don't have me around him at all until after the shot...Mommy's a hero! I love that. He weighs 15 and a half pounds. He is 25 inches long...and he's got a 17 inch noggin. I have no idea how big a normal noggin is...so that doesn't mean much to me. (however I have an abnormally large head and Russell has an abnormally small head---maybe our kids will have a normal head) Whoa...I got off subject there!

Russell and I dropped both boys off on Friday at my parent's house. Leyton loves it sooo much there! It was my first time away from Harrison. ouch...it stung a little driving away. He drank formula all weekend. When my mom first tried to give it to him...he said "No way...you can't make me!" He gave Mimi the business...after about 2 hours of showing his Roberts stubborn side, he gave in. The little turkey is a toot, I tell ya! He is also so super spoiled now. If I start to act like I am going to even think about laying him down, he lets that bottom lip fall to the floor....waterworks! Thanks Mimi. I guess that is what grandmas are for!

Overall, my dubber doo is fantastic. Thanks for reading this entire blog post if you did....it's one of those things that really is only interesting if it's your child, so I appreciate you stickin' with it. :)

A Little About Me...

Hi, it's me Harrison again. I'm 4 months old now. Hmmmm...a little bit about me? Well, let's see...I love to eat. I still eat a lot during the day, but my mommy doesn't let me snack at all at night. Hmph! I go to bed around 7 or 8 pm and sleep until around 6:30 the next morning. Sometimes I like to wake up a little earlier because I know my mommy will "give in" and lay me on her chest to sleep with her. I've heard my mommy and daddy both say that I am more spoiled than my brother was. When I cry, they pick me up. It's cool. I also eat rice cereal 2 times a day. I really like that. That is when I "talk", laugh, and smile the most. For some reason, this makes my mommy smile too. I enjoy swinging, playing in my exersaucer, and I just discovered these 2 really cool things. My mommy said they are called feet. I like to stare at them when they move. Other than that, I pretty much just lay around and chew on toys all day.

My Little Sneak

Okay...so I have written down something EVERY DAY of Leyton's life in one of these calendars. Obviously, I started the same tradition for Harrison. I noticed that Leyton was playing really quiet...you know, the kind of quiet where you just know there is mischief going on. I walked in to find him sitting at our desk, paint markers in hand---scribbling all over poor Harrison's calendar. I asked him what he was doing and his reply was...."No look at me Mommy." I debated whether I should replace Harrison's calendar, and I decided the artwork gives it character. (but to those who really know me...it is VERY hard for me to do that. I am the kind of person who re-copies my notes from school until they look perfect.)
