Ear Infections are for the birds!

That's what Harrison and I both think! Once again, my poor poor baby has a double ear infection! One more and we are headed to the ENT to see if they will do tubes early. Leyton had tubes but he didn't start getting ear infections until 9 months old. Harrison is only 3 months (today!) and he has already had 4!

Where was Jesus Born?

"Jesus was born in Bethlehem" was Leyton's Bible verse at school for the month of December. Tonight at dinner I asked Leyton where Jesus was born. He proudly replied, "Jesus born in a chimney!" Uh oh, I think the little man has a little confusion between Jesus and Santa Claus! I guess he isn't the valedictorian of his class...

Twas The Night Before Christmas

Christmas Eve....boys in their new pj's...singing Happy Birthday to Jesus...Leyton stealing Santa's cookies and milk. It was a great night! :) I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas with your family too!

Leyton is sleeping in his big boy bed now. So far, so good...he has never gotten out. I think he thinks of it as a big crib. As soon as I go to get him he wants me to "Come in" but I don't think it has dawned on him that he can get out before I come into the room. The second night I put him in there he laid down and said, "Hi big boy bed." :) (We are going to decorate his room with airplanes...not pink flowers. That is just a good comfy blanket in the meantime!)

Highs and Lows

Well, it's Sunday and I am just thinking about our week. We'll start with the lows...
1. Harrison has another ear infection. I am already ready to do tubes (like we did with Leyton) but I don't think that will happen until at least 8 months.
2. We are under lock down so Harrison won't get sick---it makes for a long week when we don't leave the house.
Now for the highs...
1. Harrison has been so much fun. Smiling and cooing lots. He loves to look at himself in the mirror.
2. Leyton has really been in the Christmas spirit...singing Jingle Bells and shaking his imaginary bells. It puts me in the Christmas spirit too.
3. Getting to spend some good time this weekend with all 3 of my boys at home. We baked Christmas cookies and went and looked at Christmas lights. I love my family!
4. Since we are under lock down, I have been playing photographer. I finally have gotten more pics of little Harrison. I will post them soon...

Just Zip It!

I was just thinking...
It all starts when you are pregnant. One stranger came up to me and told me that she just knew it was a girl...because I was wide and not carrying the baby in my tummy. RUDE! Why yes...I had an ultrasound yesterday and you are right---I'm carrying the baby in my thunder thighs. ugh.

Then when Leyton was about 8 months old, I was at Old Navy, and a lady asked me how old he was. When I told her she went on and on and on about how her baby was that size at 3 months. RUDE again! Listen lady, I work real hard to feed this baby and I can't help but be a tad offended when you are commenting on how small he is.

THEN...I was at the park with the boys a few weeks ago and a lady asked me if Leyton was one. She HAS kids...come on lady. Yeah, my one year old just told me he wants to go down the slide backwards...use your brain!

Yesterday...a lady at Walgreens said, "He should be wearing a hat...you don't want him to get an ear infection, do you?" SO RUDE! Of course...that is my goal for the day---to make sure my child gets an ear infection.

Just zip it...I think that is what I'll say next time.

HELP!!

I need a grammar lesson...or I guess a punctuation lesson. I named the blog (so creative, I know) The Roberts' Family. Now really...I don't need that apostrophe at the end of Roberts, do I? That is our last name...and I am not showing possession...or am I? I am so confused! It's my OWN last name and my mind is completely boggled. Good thing I quit teaching...now at least we only have to worry about the 2 boys I'm trying to raise at home!
p.s. this is NOT an invitation to correct ALL of my grammar/punctuation mistakes....just the one about my last name!
p.s.s. I just re-read my entry to check for any spelling errors and I have officially decided that it should just be The Roberts Family. I wouldn't write The Smith's Family if that were my last name. I'm so smart!

Santa Baby

The picture of him in the Santa outfit was the day he was taken to the hospital in the ambulance...he doesn't look very sick, does he? I was embarassed when we went to the dr that day because Harrison was wearing that outfit, Leyton had on a big ol sweater, and I was all bundled up. I got in the car and looked at the temperature and it was 67 degrees outside. It was SO cold that morning. Only in Texas.

Where ya going?

I love this picture. Leyton goes into these cabinets and pretends like he is going somewhere. He kisses us all bye bye and then announces where he is headed. He usually is going to pick up some food, head to Wal-Mart, or (my favorite) go make some money at work. I guess Daddy was going on one of his "trips" with him this day.

Harrison's Good News...

Doc said Harrison's doing great! His nose, chest, and ears are clear! WOOHOO! Thanks for so many kind words and prayers for our little guy. We all really appreciate it!

Here are some more pics that my friend Jen took. I have been a very bad mommy and have not taken many pictures lately. I always seem to take pics of Harrison with my cell phone. It is my new goal to get more pics of Harrison and I will post them soon.

Our Harrison...

Well, we just came home from the hospital. He was not in need of oxygen and he has been eating so much better. I feel like I was calm and cool at the hospital, but I must admit that being home alone with him makes me a little uneasy. If only I could have left the hospital with a oxygen monitor and one of those big ol huge vacuums to get his crud out! We have a follow up with the dr in a few days...until then I will count breaths, push on his little toes, and pester the poor kid non-stop... I'm sure! Everytime he is sleeping, I go over and poke at him. I'm sure he is totally sick of crazy mommy! Thank you for the prayers. We are ready to get our little man healthy and happy!

Prayer Request

Please say a prayer for Harrison. Long story short...we are at Cook's Childrens in Dallas. They are monitoring his oxygen intake, blood pressure, and heart rate. He also has an IV to give him fluids. We went to the peditrician today and we had to leave in an ambulance...very scary. I would really appreciate your prayers for our sweet boy. Looks like he is doing better since we arrived and I am thankful we are somewhere where he can be monitored closely.
