I realized I call Harrison "sonny" too much because now Leyton is calling him that. Harrison my son. Sonny. Dubs. Done with surgery. Did great.
We got there at 7 am...with no food or drink. Waited until 8:45 for them to even call us back. Surprisingly he was a trooper. The boy likes to eat and drink right when his feet hit the floor in the morning so his happy attitude was a shock to us both. We went back into the second waiting area where a nurse did her thing with him. We talked to the doctor, the anesthesiologist, and some other lady. The nurse gave him some "happy juice" up his nose. He was not having it. She told us he'd hate it. That is, until it kicked it. He looked like he had been at a frat party all night. His eyes were slits, he had a lazy grin on his face, and he'd slllloooowwwly giggle and talk about everything. It was hilarious. The happy juice made it possible for the nurse to take him out of my arms and into surgery. We moved to another room and about 15 minutes later the ENT doctor came in to tell us he was finished and that he did great. They said his right tube was floating around in his ear and he had fluid on both ears. They also said his adenoids were really really enlarged. Larger than he expected. SO...it's great we did the surgery. We were sent into another waiting room. We could hear Harrison's cries from out there. When we were called back to see him he was pretty agitated and upset. We held him and loved on him. They gave him some Loritab and about 15 minutes later he was asleep. He was upset again when they removed the iv. He drank a bit....and we were sent on our way. He was pretty happy in the car. He enjoyed his Starbucks. We got home and he was surprisingly happy. That was until the Loritab wore off. He's been pretty upset most of the day. We are so glad to have this over. Now we just give him his medicine a few times a day. Hopefully tomorrow he'll be good as new. Thanks for checking in on our sonny.
